Description
The Tottenham Hale Mosque & Community Centre (THMCC) is a charitable organization dedicated to providing spiritual, social, and cultural services to the communities of North London and beyond. Guided by core principles such as excellence (Ihsan), transparency, and community engagement, THMCC’s mission is to employ Islamic values to connect people with God, each other, and themselves. To better reflect this objective and support their vision of a balanced, just, and united world, the organization required an identity that felt deeply rooted in its faith while remaining highly responsive to its local context.
Auralis partnered with THMCC to design a comprehensive new brand identity, encompassing a bespoke mark, refined typography, and a purposeful color scheme. The primary objective was to create a visual language that accurately represents the community, honors the organization's guiding principles, and communicates its commitment to growth and accountability.
The resulting identity centers around a conceptually rich mark that weaves together multiple layers of meaning. The design integrates the English letters 'T' for Tottenham and 'H' for Hale, alongside the Arabic letters 'ب' for Birr (Piety) and 'ج' for Jami'a (Gathering). The mark features fluid, meandering curves that serve a dual purpose: they evoke the visual language of traditional Islamic heritage while subtly referencing the geography of the local River Lea.
This connection to the surrounding environment is further reinforced through the updated color palette. Warm tones were selected to communicate the welcoming nature and growth aspirations of the community center, while distinct tinges of blue directly allude to local motifs like the river. The final brand identity equips THMCC with a strategic, cohesive presence that honors its spiritual foundation and supports its ongoing work to build a stronger, more connected community in Tottenham Hale.
